It was kicked off by Jamie Poorman, Head Librarian at the Marshall Public Library. She visited each second grade class at the end of September to introduce the competition. In the absence of a local newspaper, Marshall Schools is working to make our website and app an expanded source of coverage for our students’ achievements, including academic highlights, school events, music programs, clubs, and sports. With regards to sports specifically, we are pleased to share that T Ray Henry will be providing photos and coverage for many of our games. This is a work in progress, so you will see more and more content from the varying schools and areas of interest as events and highlights happen.
As we have done in the past, the website and app will continue to be a good source for general school information, updates such as school closings due to weather, school calendars, lunch menus, etc.

On 5-30-2025 we were informed of the arrest of a past graduate of Marshall High School in Evansville, Indiana, where the subject currently resides. The information shared with us from the Evansville Police Department is that the former student had in her possession incendiary devices with a plan to deploy the devices at her former school. The subject remains in custody on the charge of possession of a destructive device. We will remain in communication with the Evansville Police Department for the latest information involving this situation. We are grateful for the quick thinking of the St. Vincent Police Department and investigation conducted by the EPD Bomb Technicians. The safety of our community, students and staff is always our top priority and we remain committed to ensure this even when school is not in session.
