Veterans Day

The final result of a student-led project honoring veterans can now be seen in the North School yard along Sixth Street. The Friendly Helpers, led by Mrs. Emily Bayes, completed their Field of Flags fundraiser, selling 248 flags and raising over $700 for the Marshall VFW.

Mrs. Bayes expressed pride in her students’ efforts and gratitude for the community’s support, stating,

“It has been truly heartwarming to see the number of flags being sold. I’ll admit it has brought tears to my eyes hearing about students taking money from their own piggy banks or proudly filling out their forms in honor of a dad, grandpa, brother, mom, sister, or uncle who has served.”

The Field of Flags will remain up through Veterans Day as a visible reminder of gratitude for the sacrifices made by our veterans.
