The Marshall High School Cross Country teams competed at the IHSA Class 1A Sectional Meet on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Lake Land College in Mattoon.
Girls Team (3rd Place Overall)
In a race that featured 6 of the top 10 runners from the 2024 Class A State Meet, the Lady Lions finished third overall out of 143 runners with a team score of 134 points. Senior Molly Farrell led the way, placing 4th with a time of 17:36.8. Junior Madeleine Fox followed close behind, finishing 7th in 18:14.3, while freshman Grace Thompson took 10th with a time of 18:44.9. Sophomore Addie Nave placed 60th in 21:13.4, and junior Myah Boyd finished 72nd in 21:37.7 to round out the scoring five.
This strong team performance earned the Lady Lions another trip to the IHSA State Finals at Detweiller Park.
Additionally, Molly Farrell, Madeleine Fox, and Grace Thompson were named to the All Sectional Team for their outstanding performances.

The Lady Lions will compete next at the IHSA Class 1A State Finals in Peoria on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Boys Team Results
On the boys side, Steven Hendrixson led the way with a 34th place finish in 16:42.4, followed by junior Thomas Weber who placed 83rd with a time of 17:48.3. The Marshall boys showed great effort and improvement throughout the season, finishing their year with strong performances against a competitive field of 148 runners.
