Regional Champs!

October 25, 2025 – Lake Land College, Mattoon, IL

The Marshall High School Cross Country teams competed at the IHSA Class 1A Regional meet held at Lake Land College. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams ran strong races, with the girls capturing the Regional Championship.

Girls Regional Champions

The Lady Lions claimed first place with a team score of 42 points, led by senior Molly Farrell, who placed 3rd overall in 17:30.99. Freshman Grace Thompson followed close behind in 4th place (18:28.79), while junior Madeleine Fox finished 5th (18:45.92). Sophomore Addie Nave ran a strong race, placing 12th (20:36.00), and junior Myah Boyd rounded out the scoring five in 18th place (21:51.04).

This victory marks another milestone for the Marshall girls’ program, securing the 6th Regional Championship in school history.

Boys Team Results

On the boys’ side, junior Steven Hendrixson led the Lions with an impressive 6th place overall finish (16:40.99), while junior Thomas Weber followed with a strong race, finishing 20th (17:39.73). Both athletes earned individual qualifying spots for the IHSA Sectional meet. Freshman Bricyn Cassagne placed 29th (18:26.04), and freshman Jacob Weber contributed with a finish of 55th (20:07.06).
