Marshall High School Scholarship Season
Free Money! Yes, it is that time of year again, scholarship season. Scholarships have been available all year, but many will be due within the next 3-4 months. There are scholarships available for everyone. Some students believe that scholarships are only based on academics. Some are, yet many are based on financial need, community service, specific programs (nursing, agriculture, law, etc), being a member of a specific community or organization, and more. Don’t hesitate to complete a scholarship application, you may be awarded free money!
The seniors at Marshall High School are lucky to have such a generous community. Many of our local community organizations offer scholarships to them. To access, there is a “Scholarship Information” button on the Marshall Schools Website www.marshallk12.net on both the Main Page and the MHS Page. To make the most of your efforts, please complete applications from both lists. Apply, apply, apply!

At their regular board meeting on February 10, 2022, the Marshall Schools Board of Education voted to continue forward with the modified CoVid mitigations that allow for Masks Recommended, but not required, that began Monday, February 7. This includes both at school and on buses. There are some exceptions to this that include, but are not limited to, extracurricular events at districts that require masks, students with classes or programs out of district in buildings that require masks, and field trips to venues that have different requirements. The board may modify these practices as deemed necessary.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

Randy Robinson, Skye Parris, Jocelyn Hammond, Hannah Hopkins, Tanner Woods, Josef Butler, Kaden Raisner, Ezra Wood, Connor Pettijohn, and Alyson Garcia. Not pictured Hannah Kirkwood.

Marshall Schools Community,
Due to significant legal questions raised by a ruling by Judge Grischow, of the Circuit Court in Sangamon County, who has declared IDPH’s Emergency Rules void, Marshall Schools, beginning Monday, February 7, will modify CoVid mitigations to Masks Recommended, but not required.
As has been the case throughout, this situation is fluid, so any further changes will be shared as they occur.
Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kevin Ross

Happy First Day of School 2020-21! Just a reminder with the 7:45 opening times for buildings and the high volume of students being dropped off, that drop-off lines will be slow. Dismissal time at South and North today is 11:15 and at MJHS and MHS it is 11:30. Pick-up lines will be slow as well. Thanks for your cooperation and patience!

It's a School Night! Please remember each morning to complete the Student Health Certification before sending your student to school. If you are on your smart phone, once you reach the page, you will need to scroll down to see the links. Thanks for your cooperation!

High School Athletes: Workouts & Workout Groups will remain the same for at least another week. IHSA rules for Stage 2 have yet to be approved by the ISBE. Students who have contacted Mr. Keown about being added will be notified by him of which group they will be joining. As soon as we know more regarding changes to summer workout rules or anything with regards to fall sports at both junior high and high school, we will let you know.
Also, our Athletic Facilities unfortunately remain closed to the public for the time being. If rules change that would allow public use, we will share as soon as possible.

Marshall Schools Community,
Today at 3:00, the Governor and the Illinois State Board of Education released their guidance for Schools as we enter Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan and for our return to In-Person School in August.
Highlights of this plan are being released through News outlets and other Social Media avenues by the Governor as I write this.
As you hear and see these highlights from other sources, please know that we appreciate your continued patience and trust as we work to make the best possible safe, but least restrictive local plan possible that we can for our students, staff, parents, and the greater Marshall Schools Community.
More information and communication will be provided in the coming days and weeks as we work through this together.
Sincerely,
Kevin Ross
