Reminder: There will be no school tomorrow, November 3rd, due to Election Day.
Clarification: The new Region 6 guideline that limits gatherings in one space to the lesser of 25 people or 25% of overall room capacity does not apply to schools. We will be able to continue as we have been.

MHS picture retakes will be this week on Wednesday, November 4th. Students that are in remote learning are scheduled to come to Marshall Junior High for their retakes from 3:15-4:00.

Congrats to the Girls XC team on their 3rd Place Sectional Finish and qualifying for State (Brooklyn Bender, Kailyn Morris, Ally Compton, Isabel Arthur, Emma Gard, Ashley Sanders, Sophie Smith). Ben Ross qualified for State for the Boys who finished 8th overall as a team. The State Meet will not be run this year due to CoVid Rules. High School Athletes: Workouts & Workout Groups will remain the same for at least another week. IHSA rules for Stage 2 have yet to be approved by the ISBE. Students who have contacted Mr. Keown about being added will be notified by him of which group they will be joining. As soon as we know more regarding changes to summer workout rules or anything with regards to fall sports at both junior high and high school, we will let you know.
Also, our Athletic Facilities unfortunately remain closed to the public for the time being. If rules change that would allow public use, we will share as soon as possible.

Today at 3:00, the Governor and the Illinois State Board of Education released their guidance for Schools as we enter Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan and for our return to In-Person School in August.
Highlights of this plan are being released through News outlets and other Social Media avenues by the Governor as I write this.

The Marshall FFA Chapter traveled to Newton to compete in the Dairy Foods CDE. This CDE(Career Development Event) consists of a team problem, general knowledge test, California Mastitis Test, Milk Abnormality practicum, Cheese Identification, and Real vs Artificial Dairy product identification. The Team placed 3rd overall and Chase Holllingsworth Placed 8th overall individually.

The Marshall Music Boosters Annual Pork Burger Drive-Thru is Friday, Oct. 11th, 4-7 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the high school office. A $7 meal includes a pork burger, chips, cookie, and a bottle of water. Extra pork burgers are $3.

Each week during football season, WCIA features the "Tackle Hunger" game of the week between two rival schools. Week 6 Tackle Hunger game takes place on October 4th in Paris.
Students from both Marshall and Paris will be hosting a food and/or fund drive to benefit Eastern Illinois Food bank and a local pantry. Marshall Student Council will be collecting funds the week leading up to the October 4th game and also at the game at Paris High School until halftime.
