On Friday, the Governor and IDPH announced additional updates to Illinois Sports Guidelines, which will allow for all sports including High Risk Sports (Basketball and Football) to be played if a Region is in Phase 4. We are in Region 6, which currently is in Phase 4 mitigation status as of yesterday.

The IESA, which governs our Junior High Sports, has announced that season schedules set earlier in the year will be followed. That schedule (full schedule linked below) called for Winter Sports (JH Girls Volleyball and JH Boys Basketball) to be played January through early March; and for Spring Sports (JH Girls Basketball and JH Boys & Girls Track) to be held March through May.
Junior High Girls Volleyball information was shared last week with practice starting today, January 2
Junior High Boys Basketball information was also shared late last week with practice staring Tuesday, January 26.
The IHSA, which governs our High School Sports, is meeting on Wednesday, January 27, to set season schedules for the remainder of the year. This schedule will set dates for HS Boys & Girls Basketball, HS Girls Volleyball, HS Football, HS Boys & Girls Track, HS Baseball, and HS Softball. These will be shared as soon as possible. In the meantime, workouts are being scheduled by our athletic director and coaches to get our student-athletes back in the gym, with many of these starting this week.
With severely limited numbers being allowed in spaces due to Co-Vid 19 mitigations, we are working on answers regarding cheer, dance, pep band, and spectators that we will share as soon as possible as well.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation!
