Sports / Activity Update, January 19, 2021
As many of you have heard, the IDPH announced that Region 6, of which we are a part, has moved from Tier 3 mitigations to Tier 1. This move will have some positive effect on our ability to offer extracurricular activities per updated IDPH Sports Guidelines.

At this point, we do know that Sports / Activities labeled as Low Risk (Cheer, Dance, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field) and Medium Risk (Volleyball) will be allowed to resume workouts and if in season, full practices and games/contests against other schools. Sports / Activities labeled as High Risk (Basketball and Football) can resume workouts with scrimmages, and if in-season they could have practices, but games / contests against other schools would not be allowed. We are hopeful that at some point Basketball and Football will be allowed with games, but we have no news of that to date.
We are awaiting more information from the IHSA and IESA with regards to season dates for Low and Medium Risk Sports / Activities that could happen soon including Volleyball. We are also working on schedules for workouts for any of the other Low and Medium Risk Sports / Activities whose seasons are later in the school year (baseball, softball, track) or are still labeled as high risk (basketball and football).
Additional information and schedules will be shared as soon as possible.
