To the Class of 2020,
With the Governors School Closure announcement today, our hearts go out to all students, families, and the Community with regards to experiences missed during this unprecedented time, but our hearts go out especially to you, the Class of 2020 and your families.
We know that this is not the end that you envisioned. We know that you have worked hard to get to this point and have looked forward to this Spring and all it’s special events like Prom and Graduation for many years. Please know that we will do our best to make these experiences happen for you at some time in some form if at all possible.
With the announcement coming just this afternoon, we do not know what that looks like yet, but please know that we have been and will continue working to come up with something that will be memorable and uniquely yours.
With regards specifically to Graduation, we are working on plans for something less traditional, but memorable to celebrate you and your many accomplishments on the May 29th date, and have hopes of a more formal, traditional ceremony at a later date when the world gets a little more normal.
We will share more as we know more, but in the mean time, hang in there and thanks for your patience.
Kevin Ross, John Ritchey, and Kevin Keown
